After cutting his teeth in The City, Colin joined Tech UK and established the UK representative bodies first internet and media programmes paving the way for Google and Facebook to join as members. As Director of Internet he worked with C-level representatives of the world’s largest blue-chip tech firms and the most disruptive tech start-ups to; build new mass market products, influence the legislative environment, and broker major deals across the UK, EU, and US. In addition to board representation on Digital UK and Digital Radio UK he also produced the ground-breaking ‘Future of Entertainment Summit’ in London, delivered a first of its kind connected home market acceleration report, and was invited to speak around the world on the future of the music industry.
As employee No.2 on the management team at Innovation Point in Cardiff, Col was pivotal in building the innovation company from the ground up, devising and delivering on strategic growth programmes to hit year-on-year stretched targets set by Government within a 3-year game changing project. It was here that Col established the first tech accelerator in Wales, shortly before creating the countries first ever equity backed accelerator – injecting half a million pounds into ten disruptive start-ups following a global campaign.
Col has worked to grow new companies and shape markets across a huge range of sectors covering connectivity, devices, platforms and content.
